The Porsche 911. A car which has always been a dream for many but sadly at times, financially out of reach. Perhaps not though come next year as Stuttgart’s finest will be delivering new entry-level Carrera models that are both under six figures and still deliver that thrill we all know of and love.
Coming along in 2020 specifically will be a new 911 Carrera and a convertible 911 Cabriolet. Both cars will feature the impressive 3.5L flat-six engine which produces a punchy 379 break horsepower along with a standard eight-speed PDK automatic gearbox to shift through. 0-60mph is still thrillingly quick on both cars. 4.0 seconds in fact in the Carrera and 4.2 in the Carrera Cabriolet. Should you want to gain just a few seconds more, you can add an optional Sport Chrono Package, dropping the 0-60’s down to 3.8 seconds.
Top speed wise the Carrera Cabriolet maxes out at 180mph with the regular Carrera slightly higher at 182mph. Throughout both cars you can expect an impressive level of tech spec. Porsche’s PASM suspension system contributes to a smooth, enjoyable ride along with an electronically variable damping system. Two different drive modes are available. The Wet-Mode being particularly impressive and useful given the great British weather we experience so much of. It detects water thus helping the driver adjust the vehicle’s stability control and ABS systems. In the cockpit you will find the brand new Porsche Communication Management system on an impressive 10.9 inch touchscreen display.
Exterior wise both models still look equally as stunning. 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch at the rear have this car looking muscular and ready.
The entry-level Porsche 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera Cabriolet will be available to buy from your nearest dealership early next year. Prices will start around £80,200.
