Keeping our skincare and grooming regime in top shape is super important nowadays. Indeed to do that, you also need the best in shaving supplies and equipment. There are many subscription services out there at the moment. Each delivering different products. Personally here at The Gentleman Select I’ve always been a fan of a Gillette razor. Its a brand synonymous with quality and craftsmanship. With this in mind, recently I decided to check out their Shave Club subscription service. Importantly discovering why this is a welcome addition to any gentleman’s grooming regime and perfect for the man who wants to look and feel sharp.
Gillette have been producing high quality shaving equipment since 1901. Two years later they created the first safety razor with a disposable blade. With this in mind undoubtedly they know what they are doing. Fast forward a year or two more and Gillette now have a fantastic subscription service available. One packed full of goodies for you to receive. There is three options to choose from specifically. The Mach 3 for a smooth shave, the Fusion5 and the Fusion5 ProGlide which I tried out. Gillette’s most advanced shave to date.
With the three options also comes three very good price points. the Fusion5 ProGlide kit is currently £6.95, down from its original £17.37. With this you get the razor itself along with 2 replacement blades, a 75ml shave gel and razor travel case. For those of you who don’t know the Fusion5 ProGlide is an innovative razor with 5 anti-friction blades for an ultra smooth shave. Additionally it features enhanced Lubrastrip to cool and calm the face whilst combating irritation. On the back, a precision trimmer is ideal for getting into the tricky areas. Under the nose and close to the sideburns is what we all find intricate so for me this is a great little tool.
In addition to the 5 anti-friction blades, the FlexBall technology is a wondrous piece of development. Something which gents out there who have a totally clean shave will love. Personally I only shave around my neck and on the cheeks, however it is fantastic for smoothly navigating the contours of your face. It fits nicely into your hand and is easy to grip and control. Precision is everything when shaving and that is exactly what Gillette delivers.
The Fusion5 in Gillette’s subscription is next up. Currently priced at £4.95 this is also a fantastic razor to have. With 5 blades it delivers an accurate, close shave. Furthermore you will also receive 2 additional blades, your 75ml shaving gel and razor travel case with this kit to.
Gillette’s third option is the Mach3 kit. For the perfect smooth shave it is also £4.95 and again comes with the same accessories as the other two along with relevant matching blades. With all three you receive free next day delivery and fantastically, every 4th refill blade pack free. For me its a subscription service that ticks all the boxes.
Having tried out the Fusion5 ProGlide in Gillette’s subscription service I was hugely impressed. Indeed with the choice of the three most popular razors in the UK, it allows you to get exactly what you want from a shave. In the past I’ve actually used all three and been very pleased with each.
