There are many menswear brands out there just now doing a lot of good things but not too many that carry behind them such knowledge, drive and passion for their craft as Centre Front Menswear. A brand founded in London by a team with decades of design and buying experience in the fashion world, their focus is to bring you clothing which is a mixture of the latest trends and contemporary styles, inspired by architecture and creative movements all of which look fantastic when you wear them.
Here at The Gentleman Select I was lucky enough to pick out a couple of their key items in the range for a closer look, try them on, and really get a feel for what Centre Front Menswear is all about.
Denim Shirt With Dropped Hem
The denim shirt is a timeless item of clothing which will literally go with anything, under a suit to casually with denim jeans just so long as you don’t have all the colours matching. the Denim Shirt I went for comes in a lovely faded blue colour and features some nice detail such as visible buttons and a dropped hem at the back to give you extra length when un-tucked. Crafted from 100% cotton I also found the shirt extremely comfortable on making it easily worn on its own in the summer time, or if just now whilst its still pretty cold, with a little plain white t-shirt underneath it. Personally I really like how Centre Front have produced a shirt with lapped seems, a process usually reserved for leather and felt, it essentially means the fabric is joined to edge for more durability and an all round longer life.
Given that I almost live in black jeans when I’m not wearing a suit, I paired the shirt with these as such to really make the faded blue pop! Size wise, the shirt is oversized so I went for a small to get a slightly neater fit though my advice would be to check the models measurement on site, make a quick comparison in your head and then pick your size accordingly.
Hoody in Military Green
Along with the denim shirt, the hoody has to be one of the most popular menswear items on the go. Put it on with jeans and a leather jacket or however you like and you’ve got a seriously good, comfortable well rounded outfit. Centre Front Menswear have given us a range of hoodies which for me tick all the boxes and more. Putting the piece on I could feel and see the extra thought and time put into creating such an item. A more substantial weight of cotton in 360gm is complimented by a relaxed fit and pockets re-inforced with rib at the openings prevent that pesky situation when the edges begin to tear from constantly using them.
I actually picked the hoodie in small again because of its slightly oversized fit but this is again only personal preference. If I’m honest it was a tough choice as well because along with the strong range of colours, Centre Front also have a cracking selection of sweatshirts to pick from in some really punchy colours.
For me Centre Front Menswear are a great source for really cool, inspiring items of clothing. A brand who are passionate about what they do by working with premium fabrics and established manufacturers, there is nothing hidden and they deliver what it says on the tin. What I actually most like about Centre Front, aside from the great pieces of clothing, is actually how competitively price the items are for said quality. Really great value for money.
